Statement: On the Bomb Attack in Maldives

PASAY CITY, 13 May 2021 – The Philippines expresses solidarity with Maldives and condemns the bombing attack in Malé in the evening of 06 May 2021, which injured former President
and Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Mohamed Nasheed.

We hope for the immediate recovery of the Honorable Speaker and affirm our confidence in the investigation efforts by the Government of Maldives.

As of today, there have been no reports of Filipinos affected by the attack. END
