18 September 2014 – In view of the improving security situation in Israel and Palestine, the Department of Foreign Affairs has lowered the Alert Level in Israel and West Bank from Alert Level 2 (Restriction Phase) to Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase). The DFA also lowered the Alert Level in Gaza Strip from Alert Level 4 (Mandatory Repatriation) to Alert Level 2 (Restriction Phase).

The security situation in Israel and Palestine has greatly improved since the implementation of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. These notwithstanding, the DFA maintains Alert Level 1 in Israel since it still faces external threat to its security. The DFA advises all Filipinos in Israel to take the necessary precautions.

Meanwhile, Alert Level 2 is maintained in Gaza due to the humanitarian situation in the territory.

The decision to lift the deployment ban on Israel and West Bank based on the new alert levels lies with the Governing Board of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). END
