PH Embassy in Bangladesh Conducts Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer Awareness for Filipinos

DHAKA 20 March 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka celebrated International Women’s Day with its first activity this year under its Gender and Development program entitled “Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer Awareness.” A total of 81 participants attended the seminar.

Resource speakers talked about the statistics of these cancers, possible causes, tests and screening and types of procedures/operations. The speakers encouraged everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle, talk to a doctor, and undergo regular tests and screenings. 

Free breast physical check up was provided to the first 20 females registrants above 40 years old and free blood pressure examination was available to everyone.

Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo conferred Certificates of Appreciation to the resource speakers, Professor Dr. S.M. Anisur Rahman and Dr. Humairah Alam for sharing their time and imparting knowledge and to give encouragement to the Filipino nationals to become more mindful about their health. END
