PH Consulate General in Chongqing Holds Session on Consular Services, Information Campaign to End Violence Against Women

CHONGQING 11 December 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing held a learning session on consular services and launched the information campaign of the Philippine Government to end violence against women (VAW) cum Christmas gathering on 22 November 2019 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chongqing.
More than 80 Filipinos including the Consulate staff and their dependents attended the gathering.
Vice Consul Adrian Miras gave some reminders on the Consulate’s notices and advisories on consular services. He also informed the Filipino community that the Philippine Commission on Women has an 18-Day campaign to end VAW, from 25 November to 12 December 2019. The brochures on ending VAW and Anti-Trafficking in Persons, including the Reminders to Filipinos in China, were distributed to the Filipinos present in the event. Vice Consul Miras also informed the members of Filipino community (FilCom) in attendance of the resumption of overseas registration for 09 May 2022 Presidential elections, which will commence on 16 December 2019 until 30 September 2021.
Philippine Consulate General to Chongqing Crescente R. Relacion, during his Christmas message, expressed his gratitude for the members of the Filipino community who attended the Consulate General’s organized event and for their support to the Consulate General’s activities.
The community presented Consul General Relacion with a token of appreciation for his service rendered as Consul General.
The program was enlivened by the presentations of the FilCom in Chongqing choir, performances by FilCom band, games, raffle draw, and a feast of Filipino food shared among Filipinos. END
