DFA Consular Office in Lucena Conducts Kick-off Activity for 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women

LUCENA 13 December 2019 — The Department of Foreign Affairs–Office of Consular Affairs’ Consular Office in Lucena observed the start of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) by holding a kick-off activity on 25 November 2019.
In light of this event, officers and staff started wearing advocacy button pins bearing the campaign’s theme: “VAW-free community starts with me".
During the flag ceremony, a prayer to end VAW was included as part of observance for the campaign. In addition, printed copies of the information, education and communication (IEC) material RA 9208 (The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) were distributed to provide information regarding Trafficking in Persons (TIP).
The advocacy streamer is posted outside the CO premises for public awareness. The campaign started on 25 November 2019 and ends on 12 December 2019. END
