PH Embassy Berlin Holds Health Information Session

BERLIN 12 February 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Berlin, in cooperation with the Filipino Community and Filipino Chaplaincy at Bayernallee, Berlin, held an Information Session on Health, Hygiene, and Wellness on 09 February 2020 with over 140 community members in attendance.

Philippine Ambassador to Germany Ma. Theresa Dizon-De Vega stated that the session is part of the Embassy’s efforts to keep the Filipino Community informed with data from official sources and to help raise awareness of health and wellness issues in the community.

Filipino-German Doctor Leif Bayani Marold gave a presentation on the basic characteristics of the 2019 novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease or n-CoV ARD based on the latest findings of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the information of the community members.

He likewise exhorted the audience not to panic but instead to observe healthy and hygienic practices to protect themselves from illness and to achieve overall wellness. Aside from the n-CoV ARD discussion, Dr. Marold also gave pointers on maintaining proper hygiene, nutrition, rest, exercise, and mental wellness. END
