DFA Consular Office in General Santos City Commemorates 2020 Family Planning Month

GENERAL SANTOS CITY 25 August 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in General Santos City, in cooperation with the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM), joined the nation in celebrating the 2020 Family Planning Month, with the theme “Mag FP para sa ligtas, malusog, at wais na pamilya” on 20 August 2020.

The Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) program, as a flagship program of POPCOM, gives utmost importance to the rights of Filipino women by providing family planning information and services that will enable them to decide on appropriate family planning methods to use in accordance with their life aspirations, physical preparedness, and social and economic capacities.

In acknowledgment of the Consular Office’s support for the campaign, POPCOM provided posters and video plug-ins which were displayed at the Consular Office’s reception area. Booklets containing relevant information on the program were also distributed to women passport applicants.

The Consular Office further enjoins the public to celebrate Family Planning Month and support the campaign throughout the month of August 2020. END
