DFA Consular Office in Pampanga Conducts Webinar on the Effects of COVID-19 on Mental Health
PAMPANGA 05 November 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office (CO) Pampanga successfully conducted a webinar entitled “Mental Health in the midst of COVID-19” as part of its Gender and Development activities on 29 October 2020.
The webinar was aimed at raising awareness on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our mental health and provided possible means to cope up with the challenges and mental struggles brought about by the current situation. Mr. Amir N. Canlas, Head of the Integral Formation Group (Student Services) of Mary the Queen College Pampanga and the Public Relations Officer of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association - Pampanga Chapter, underscored the importance of communication in addressing mental health issues and how the simple question, “How are you feeling today?” can make a difference to you and to your colleague’s mental health.
As a key takeaway, CO personnel were able to appreciate that mental health is just as important as physical health and that seeking professional help, if needed, should not be stigmatized in any way. END
