CLARIN 26 November 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office (CO) Clarin joins the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, an advocacy campaign observed annually from 25 November-12 December 2020.
The 18-Day Campaign to End VAW supports the Philippine government’s goal of protecting the human rights of women and girls by upholding its commitment to address all forms of gender-based violence.
The DFA CO Clarin Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System spearheaded the observance of the advocacy campaign and gave an overview to the passport applicants about the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW and its objectives.
As part of information and education drive to end VAW in the community, the CO’s personnel gave out flyers on the different laws protecting the human rights of women and girls and the different forms of violence. An audio-video presentation from the Philippine Commission on Women was also played on loop in the consular office to give awareness and to encourage the public to support the campaign. END
