Better Together: DFA Consular Office in General Santos Vows to End Violence Against Women

GENERAL SANTOS CITY 01 December 2020 – The DFA Consular Office (CO) in General Santos City joined the nation in observing the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from 25 November to 12 December 2020, by displaying the official e-streamer and the VAW Unspoken Words Collection at its Reception Area on the first day of the campaign. Advocacy shirts were likewise worn by all personnel throughout the day, while face masks with Philippine Commission on Women-designed official logo were distributed to its passport applicants.

Other initiatives of the Consular Office include the setting up of an advocacy booth was as a campaign landmark, which features various IEC materials such as portfolio on facts and trivia on the forms of abuse and violence prevalent around the world, and Anti-VAWC, Trafficking in Persons, Rape and Sexual Harassment brochures; as well as the conduct of a webinar on VAW on 28 November 2020, in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
