20 April 2015 – Philippine Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta represented the Philippines at the 4th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) held from April 16 to 17 at the Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow.

MCIS is an annual gathering of high-ranking military officials, diplomats, and experts focusing on global security trends and challenges. This year’s conference specifically delved into questions regarding the shifting regional and global balance of power, military-to-military cooperation in combating terrorism, as well as the role of politico-military instruments in ensuring regional and global stability.

The two-day conference was formally opened by top Russian officials led by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Geramisov. END
