Message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano on the Occasion of Eid’l Fitr

PASAY CITY 15 June 2018 — In behalf of the Filipino people, we join our brothers and sisters in Muslim Communities around the world in celebration of Eid'l Fitr.

Ramadan, is a period of prayer, fasting, and reflection. It is a sacred time leading to Eid’l Fitr, a joyous occasion.

Eid’l Fitr is a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate, to give thanks to the Almighty for having been able to perform the required personal sacrifices.

It is a reminder to share with the needy and less privileged members of society the many blessings we have enjoyed from the Almighty.

Finally, it is a time of forgiveness, to mend and heal all past hurts and to move on with life.

We look towards the future with a renewed sense of confidence and optimism, as we share in this unique experience with our Muslim brothers and sisters.

May we all find the blessings of love and sharing and let it enable us to bring forth peace and happiness for all peoples of the world.
