AUTHENTICATION
1 July 2013 - The Philippine Embassy to the Holy See celebrated its 115th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 12 with a flag-raising ceremony and Panunumpa sa Watawat at the Chancery with the Embassy staff led by Ambassador Mercedes A. Tuason.
A Thanksgiving Mass was likewise held in the afternoon of the same day at the Pontificio Collegio Filippino with His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle as main celebrant together with the Filipino and non-Filipino priests as concelebrants.
Ambassador Tuason read the Independence Day message of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
The event was followed by a reception at the garden of the Collegio Filippino and was attended by approximately 200 guests from the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See, Vatican officials, members of the different religious congregations and Filipino community leaders. END
