KIDAPAWAN 05 November 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office in Kidapawan successfully held a painting session, in partnership with Rodante Mindo, on 30 October 2024 at DFA Kidapawan Consular Office, Kidapawan City.

The painting session, titled the Second Pintura Workshop as Gender and Development (GAD) Activity, was led by local artist and President of Kidapawan City Visual Artist Group Rodante “Dan” Mindo from Davao City and now residing in Kidapawan City. Known for his exceptional talent as a naturalist artist, Dan creates strikingly realistic artworks that capture the beauty of nature. The workshop was attended by staff from the DFA CO Kidapawan and outsourced personnel headed by HCO Nadjefah B. Acampong Mangondaya, fostering an atmosphere of creativity and artistic growth. The event provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore personal expression through painting while reflecting on the role of art in promoting gender and development themes.

In his discussion, Sir “Dan” Mindo emphasized the subjective nature of art, reminding participants of the saying, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." He encouraged everyone to appreciate the diversity of artistic interpretation, explaining that what resonates as beautiful may vary from person to person.

The Pintura Workshop not only celebrated artistic expression but also strengthened awareness around gender and development. Through this creative event, DFA CO Kidapawan reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment in the community. END
