Bulletin: On the Case of the Raped Filipina in Kuwait

12 June 2019 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, is closely coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities for the speedy arrest of the suspect in the rape case involving a Filipina household service worker in Kuwait.

Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Mohd Noordin Lomondot reported that Kuwaiti authorities have issued a warrant of arrest against the suspect, Mr. Fayed Naser Hamad Alajmy, a 22-year-old Kuwaiti Police Officer. He said Mr. Alajmy was the one who assisted the OFW for finger scanning registration at the airport upon her arrival in Kuwait on 4 June. It was alleged that Mr. Alajmy later kidnapped and assaulted the OFW. Chargé d'Affaires Lomondot added that the employer of the OFW is also cooperating with the Embassy and local authorities.

The Philippine Government will exert all efforts to ensure that justice is served. END
