On the Death of a Filipino in Australia

27 September 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through its Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) and the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, is actively monitoring developments on the death of a Filipino in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. Consul General to Sydney Ezzedin Tago said that the Consulate General is coordinating with local authorities, including the Wagga Wagga police, to obtain relevant additional details on the case, as well as to effect the repatriation of the Filipino’s remains once the relevant reports and local requirements are completed. DFA OUMWA is also in coordination with the Filipino’s family in the Philippines for other information needed. DFA OUMWA and the Consulate General stand ready to provide further assistance, if needed.
