On the Magnitude 5.9 Earthquake that Hit Iran

08 November 2019 - The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Embassy in Tehran, continues to monitor the aftermath of a magnitude 5.9 earthquake that struck the East Azerbaijan province in Iran in the early morning of 08 November 2019.

The Embassy has contacted the Filipino community in Tabriz City to ascertain the safety and situation of around 32 Filipino nationals residing in the area.

So far, there is no report of Filipinos among those affected by the deadly earthquake.

The DFA stands ready to provide assistance to any affected kababayan. END
