Bulletin: On the Third COVID-19-positive Filipino in Hong Kong

05 March 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, confirms reports of a third Filipino national who tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Hong Kong.

The Filipino national, who is currently confined in a hospital in isolation and undergoing tests, is said to be asymptomatic.

The other two Filipino nationals that were earlier declared to be COVID-19-positive have now recovered and are expected to be discharged soon. This brings the total active COVID-19-positive Filipinos in Hong Kong down to one. It should be noted that all three Filipinos reportedly contracted the virus from their employers.

The Consulate continues to closely monitor the condition of all Filipino nationals in Hong Kong and render assistance as needed. END
