Statement on the Anniversary of the Downing of MH17

PASAY CITY 17 July 2021 — The Philippines remembers with deep sadness the downing of the Malaysian Airlines Flight (MH17) that claimed the lives of 298 individuals, including a Filipina and her two children. We observe the seventh anniversary of this tragedy.

The Philippines renews its solidarity with the 16 other grieving nations and remains committed to supporting efforts to establish the truth to attain justice for the victims and their loved ones, where those responsible for the incident will be held accountable, in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution 2166 (2014).
