19 November 2013 – H.E. Le Luong Minh, Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), signed the condolence book for victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) at the Philippine Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 18.

The Secretary General reiterated his message of condolences and vowed  that he will do his “utmost in further mobilizing and coordinating the delivery of needed assistance for the affected communities” in the Philippines.

He expressed his desire to go to the Philippines and oversee humanitarian assistance being administered by ASEAN there. He has earlier sent a letter of condolence addressed to Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario. END
