20 November 2013 – Sinagapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated 600 boxes of potable water and 90 boxes of various medical supplies through the Philippine Embassy on November 19.
The donation was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Law, K. Shanmugam, after signing the book of condolence at the Embassy. In his brief remarks to the media, Minister Shanmugan said that the donation was part of Singapore’s contribution to the ongoing relief efforts following the devastation caused by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Ambassador Minda Cruz thanked Minister Shanmugam and Singapore for their donation, as well as for many other contributions, such as the immediate delivery of relief goods to Tacloban via two Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130s, in the early and critical phase of the calamity.
