21 November 2013 - The United Korean Association of Hawaii turned over a check for US$1,000.00 to the Philippine Consulate General on November 19. The donation will be remitted to the Philippine Red Cross for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The President of the Korean Association, Mr. Austin K. Kang, expressed his condolences. He was accompanied by Mr. Kymgu Kang, Deputy Consul General of the Korean Consulate General in Honolulu, and other officers of the United Korean Association. 

According to Mr. Kang, the amount donated is only an initial amount. Their fund raising is ongoing, and many private Korean business owners and individuals are willing to donate more. END
