22 November 2013 - Grade 7 students from Panyathip International School (PIS) led by their Homeroom Teacher, Ms. Julie Sutherland signed the condolence book for the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) at the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane on November 14.  They also turned over to the Embassy cash donations gathered from PIS students for the typhoon victims.

The cash donation came in small denominations in several bundles and was contained in a brown envelope. Philippine Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta commented that this was surely drawn from the small allowances of the students and that they had sacrificed a lot to be able to give to the cause. Ms. Sutherland commented that the students mustered a lot of courage to be able to speak to each and every class in the school.

Ambassador Isleta received the students and commended them for their exemplary initiative. END
