22 November 2013 - The Lao business sector went all out in its support for the victims of super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) with an unexpected turnover of assistance gathered from members of the sector at a press conference held at the Lao Journalists Association Office held last November 19.

Mr. Daovone explained at the press conference that an SMS / Texting facility had been set up in cooperation with BCEL (Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur) to which the general public can send their donations for the typhoon victims. He said that they have made the facility available until November 30, 2013.
In receiving the assistance given by the various Lao companies, Ambassador Isleta expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the members of the business community, as well as to the government and peoples of Laos who have in many instances offered their aid and sympathies to the people of the Philippines at this very tragic time in its history.
She said that these gestures and expressions of solidarity with the Filipino people will be treasured forever and that the Filipino people draws much comfort and encouragement from them. END
