27 November 2013 - Students and faculty representatives from the Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School visited the Philippine Consulate General on November 24 to hand over the messages of support from its students for the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims. According to the school, these messages are a symbol of its support for and sense of solidarity with the people of the Philippines following the devastation brought about by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
The Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School also conducted a fundraising program entitled “Wun Tsuen Cares: Helping the Victims of Typhoon Haiyan” which raised HK$14,832.50 (Php81,578.75). The amount was donated directly to the Hong Kong Red Cross for the typhoon victims.
The Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School is a government-subsidized primary school located in Kowloon and its student body is composed of different nationalities. Around 50 of its students are Filipino, including its social worker, Mr. Luis Chuidian, who was present during the handing over of the messages of support. END
