Muscat ASEAN Charity Bazaar

27 November 2013 – The ASEAN Community in Muscat, through the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle, organized a Charity Bazaar on November 23, to help the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Philippines. 

The charity event was held at the Muscat Grand Mall, a high foot traffic mall in Muscat which allowed the use of its facilities for free for the fund raising event.

Heads of Posts of the diplomatic missions with their spouses, and embassy officers and staff of ASEAN member countries Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand worked together in selling food and other items to raise as much funds from the bazaar.

A total of 2,000.600 Omani rials (Php 226,000.00) were raised from the Charity Event and were transmitted by the Philippine Embassy to the Philippine Red Cross.

The ASEAN Ladies’ Circle is a non-profit recreational and social club for spouses of ASEAN Ambassadors and diplomats in the Sultanate of Oman. END
