27 November 2013 - The 32nd Guam Legislature donated on November 22, US$1,322.50 to the Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) for the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims. The money was derived from their collection during the boot drive that they conducted recently.
At a simple ceremony held at the Guam Legislature in Agana, Speaker Judith Won Pat turned over the check to FCG President Roy Adonay.
Mr. Adonay expressed appreciation to Speaker Won Pat and the 32nd Guam Legislature for their donation to the relief efforts for the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) being spearheaded by the FCG in close cooperation with and support of the Government of Guam, the Philippine Consulate General and Ayuda Foundation.
Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, the Consulate General’s coordinator for typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), on the other hand, thanked Speaker Won Pat, on behalf of the Consulate General, for their donation and the sincere expression of support and solidarity of the 32nd Guam Legislature for the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Philippines.
Also present during the turnover were Senators Tina Muna Barnes, Dennis G. Rodriguez Jr., Chris Duenas, and Tommy Morrison as well as Mr. Emelio Uy, FCG Board of Trustees Chairman, and Consul Maria Paz G. Cortes. END
