05 December 2013 – Members of the Wat Thai Los Angeles, the Venerable Abbot of the Thai Temple in North Hollywood and Thai Consul General Jesda Katavetin, called on Consul General Ma. Hellen Barber De La Vega on December 04 to present a check donation for the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) relief drive. The donation amounting to US$ 20,506.00 will be coursed through the American Red Cross.

This is the result of the efforts to raise funds by the Thai community at the Thai temple in North Hollywood.  Consul General Katavetin and Mr. Thoongsuwan expressed their messages of support and sympathy for those affected by the typhoon in the Philippines.  Consul General Barber De La Vega, in turn, conveyed her appreciation for the donation and overflowing support from the ASEAN community in Los Angeles, including Thailand.
