09 December 2013 – The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) led by its chairman, H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa and BRCS officials presented to Philippine Manama Bahrain Red Crescent Society2Ambassador Sahid S. Glang and Consul General Raquel R. Solano, 80 tons of relief assistance for typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims in the Philippines, at the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) tarmac on December 04. The relief assistance was loaded into a 747 aircraft that left Bahrain for Cebu on December 04.

The relief cargoes were emblazoned with Philippine and Bahraini flags and banners stating “Gift from the people of Bahrain to the people of the Philippines”. The relief assistance consisted of the following items: 4,000 food parcels; 2,216 packages of personal hygiene items; 20,000 blankets, 500 tents; 100 generator sets; 20,000 towels; 20,000 pillows; 1,000 bottles of mineral water; 2,000 water containers, and 1,000 mats.

Also present during the loading were Dr. Fawzi Abdulla Ameen, BRCS General Secretary,  and Mr. Mubarak Khalifa Al Hadi, BRCS General Manager. END
