13 December 2013 – The Filipino Association in Russia (FAR) has raised a total donation amounting to US$ 6,000.00 for typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) relief operations. The donation will be personally turned over to the Philippine National Red Cross by Dr. Cesar Dalida, FAR President.

Aside from the cash donation, a prayer and a candle lighting program for the victims and their families were offered by the FAR officers and members during their Holiday get-together activity on December 7.

The pupils of the British International School in Moscow (BISM) also held a fundraising activity dubbed “Movie Night and Cake Bake” on November 29 at the BISM campus.  The proceeds of the fundraising were endorsed to FAR on December 4, amounting to 48,968.00 rubles. 

Mr. Richard Butler, Head Teacher at BISM, conveyed their condolences to all those affected by the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and expressed their hope for the immediate return to normality of the Philippines. END.
