02 January 2014 - Madrid Mayor Ana Botella held a press conference on December 27, 2013 at the Madrid´s City Hall to officially announce that the Solventia Foundation is dedicating its Second Edition of the Fund Raising Marathon in solidarity with the Philippines, in particular with the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
The marathon, 5km to 10km run, will be held at 1000H on January 5, 2014 on the occasion of the Feast of the Three Kings which is a national non-working holiday in Spain.
The marathon will carry the theme “Run for the Philippines”. It is being organized by the Municipal Board of Fuencarral El Pardo, one of the districts in Madrid, in collaboration with the Solventia Foundation, Coca Cola, Commercial Center La Vaguada, and Pharmaceutical company Cofares.
Both the Mayor of Madrid, Ana Botella, and Consul General Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. invited everyone to register and join the marathon in solidarity with the Filipino people. Also present during the press conference were: Fuencarral-El Pardo district Counselor Jose Antonio Gonzalez, President of Solventia Foundation Conrado Truán, Spanish Athlete Chema Martinez and representatives from Coca Cola, Commercial Center La Vaguada, and Pharmaceutical company Cofares.
