Vientiane  Mining compny donation

05 February 2014 - Mr. Rob Usher, Executive General Manager of Phu Bia Mining, visited the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane last December to sign the condolence book for Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims. He was accompanied by Mr. Glenn Connell, Regional External Affairs Manager, and three Filipino staff led by Ms. Marissa Aquino, Management Systems Superintendent.

After signing the condolence book, Mr. Usher handed over to Philippine Ambassador to Laos Maria Lumen B. Isleta a specimen cheque for US$ 147,469.00, representing total donations of Phu Bia Mining and its parent company, Pan Aust.  The donated amount was remitted directly to the Department of Social Welfare and Development account.

More than 100 Filipino nationals are currently employed in Phu Bia Mining Laos.  The management launched a matched-giving scheme in which all donations made by employees are matched dollar for dollar by the company.

In receiving the donations, Ambassador Isleta expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the management and staff of Phu Bia mining for their expression of support and gestures of sympathy for the typhoon-affected communities. END
