26 February 2014 - Three days ahead of Valentine’s Day and the people of Guam continued to demonstrate their generous heart for the communities affected by the devastation wrought by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). This time it was the President of PHR Ken Micronesia Inc., Mr. Tetsuro Imamura, who personally came to the Philippine Consulate General in Agana to present to Consul General Bayani V. Mangibin a check in the amount of US$6,000 representing his company’s donation to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in support of the continuing recovery and reconstruction efforts for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

In accepting the check from Mr. Imamura, Consul General Mangibin said that the Philippines is fortunate and very appreciative of the heartwarming support and outpouring of expressions of solidarity that the country received in the wake of the typhoon’s devastation not just from governments and private companies, like PHR Ken Micronesia, but even from ordinary people.

“Guam may be a small island, but the expressions of sympathy and the support we received in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda clearly showed that its people have big and generous hearts,” Consul General Mangibin remarked after receiving the check donation from Mr. Imamura.

PHR Ken Micronesia, which Mr. Imamura heads as President, is a Japanese company that operates five of the major hotels in Guam, including the Hyatt Regency Guam, the Hilton Guam Resort and Spa, and the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort. END
