Macau-donation from CARITAS

13 March 2014- Caritas Macau Secretary General Paul Pun Chi Meng turned over to Philippine Consul General Danilo T. Ibayan a check amounting to HKD 200,000 (approximately Php 1.1 million) for the Philippine Red Cross on March 12 as assistance to the victims of the devastation brought by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) which hit the Philippines in November last year. 

The donation was made in simple ceremonies at the Philippine Consulate General in Macau and witnessed by Consul Pete Delfin, Vice-Consul Ira Micheline Valdez, Administrative Officer Edmundo Mangubat, Finance Officer Felisa Macaraeg, and Collecting Officer Caroline Angeles.

Caritas Macau had previously given assistance to help the victims of tropical storm Sendong (international name Washi) in November 2012, and super typhoon Pablo (international designation Bopha) which hit Mindanao in December 2012.

The latest donation will be handed over by the Consulate General to the Philippine Red Cross in Manila through the Department of Foreign Affairs. END
