DFA Consular Office Distributes Vitamins and Conduct Free Blood and Sugar Check for The Elderly 

PHOTOS: DFA Consular Office in San Fernando Pampanga paid tribute to elderly through a health drive in celebration of 2023 Filipino Elderly Week.  

San Fernando, 11 October 2023– In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, the DFA Consular Office in San Fernando Pampanga distributed vitamins as it conducted its health drive offering free blood and sugar level checks to elderly applicants while waiting for their turn for passport and authentication services.  The free checks were conducted by CO’s two registered nurses Airish Alfaro-Angeles and Annie Lugtu, while the project was spearheaded by CO’s GAD focal persons, Ms. Janine Ann Santos and Michael Mark Soriano.

“Honoring the Invaluable Legacy of Filipino Senior Citizens” as this year’s theme, the office also gave out vitamin packs to senior citizens to keep them healthy and strong. Special “grandma/grandpa” drinking mugs were also given to lolos and lolas as a CO’s token of gratitude.

Recently, the consular office launched its special care counters for elderly applicants who are unable to stand or have difficulty standing during the interview.  

Elderly Filipino Week is commemorated every 1 to 7 October 2023 by Proclamation No. 470 to emphasize the contributions of senior citizens in contributing to the development of the country. END
