28 February 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok celebrated community on February 25 the 28th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with the members of the Filipino at the Philippine Embassy grounds.
The celebration started with a flag-raising ceremony at followed by brief welcome remarks from Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia, a fellowship breakfast and showing of documentary video entitled: “Puso sa Diwa ni Ninoy.” A photo exhibit on the history of the EDSA People Power Revolution was also held on this occasion.
In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Batoon-Garcia reminded the members of the Filipino community of the significance of the bloodless revolution. With this year’s celebration theme “Kapit Bisig Tungo sa Pagbangon” the Ambassador urged the members of the Filipino community and Embassy guests to continue supporting President Benigno Aquino’s economic programs and initiatives for the Philippines to fully achieve economic growth.
