03 March 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates commemorated the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution in a simple ceremony held on February 25 at the Philippine Consulate General Lawn.

Following the morning’s flag raising, Consul General Frank R. Cimafranca, in a brief message, urged all present to keep the meaning of EDSA in their hearts and to continue the struggle against oppression. He also stated that because of EDSA, the Philippines was known all over the world; it served as an example that a people could free themselves from the clutches of tyranny through peaceful means.

Shortly after EDSA Revolution, various peaceful revolutions swept oppressive governments in Europe and elsewhere. END
