18 June 2014 - It was a weekend of Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Dhaka when the two Filipino associations, the Filipino Grand Alliance in Bangladesh (FGAB) and the Philippine Society in Bangladesh (PSB), held their respective festivities on June 13 and 14.

The events filled the evening atmosphere with gaiety and national pride as members of these Filipino organizations staged a variety of performances showcasing the best of Filipino cultural dances and music.

Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo was present in the two occasions, together with the Philippine Embassy personnel and their families.

In his remarks, Ambassador Bandillo gave recognition for the ingenuity of the Filipinos in Bangladesh and conveyed his sincere appreciation for the continued cooperation of PSB and FGAB with the Philippine Embassy in furthering global awareness of the Philippines through effective demonstration of patriotism, integrity and bayanihan in their projects and activities.  END
