23 June 2014 – A formal flag-raising ceremony, led by Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez, took place in the early morning of June 12 at the Chancery of the Philippine Embassy in Ankara to mark the start of the Independence Day celebration. The flag-raising ceremony was followed by a Filipino breakfast.

Traditional Filipino delights such as puto, danggit, champorado, pritong itlog, beef tapa and other delicacies were served by the Embassy for the members of the Filipino community, who were allowed by their employers to go have a day-off on June 12, and all the Embassy staff members and their families.  END
