16 June 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Yangon celebrated the 117th Anniversary of Philippine Independence with the Filipino community on June 07 at the Sule Shangri-La Hotel.
The Independence Day gathering evoked a poignant expression of patriotism among the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during the heartwarming performance of Huseng Batute’s Bayan Ko and Francisco Santiago’s Pilipinas kong Mahal by a group of Filipino engineers with the Sedona Band. Other Filipino songs such as APO Hiking Society’s Batang Bata Ka Pa and ONL’s Pinoy Ako were also performed onstage.
