18 June 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Beijing celebrated the 117th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with members of the Filipino Community on June 14.  More than 150 Filipinos in Northern China joined the Embassy for the get-together.  

Public service reminders on overseas voters (OV) registration, warning against drug trafficking, illegal recruitment and human trafficking were announced during the program. An information flyer prepared by the Embassy was also distributed.

Atty. Dennis Manalastas, a lawyer working in Beijing, delivered a lecture on “The Rights and Responsibilities of Filipinos living and working in China.”

An overseas voters (OV) registration desk was set up during the event enabling qualified Filipinos to register. The Colors of Freedom Exhibit on the history of the Philippine Flag was also mounted at the Embassy lobby.

Guests enjoyed the afternoon feasting on Filipino food prepared by the Embassy and participating in various parlor games.  END
