17 January 2018 HONG KONG — Antonio A. Morales looks forward to more vibrant collaboration and partnership with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), during his term as Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong.
In a welcome luncheon hosted by HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong on 12 January, Consul General Morales noted that there is strong potential to enhance trade and investment relations between the Philippines and Hong Kong, especially through HKTDC's support following the signing of the ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement in November 2017 in Manila.
Consul General Morales welcomed HKTDC's proposal to organize a high-level investment mission to the Philippines in April, and for a stronger presence of Philippine companies in HKTDC-organized expos and fairs to promote Philippine products and services.
HKTDC led two business missions to the Philippines in 2017, which shows the Hong Kong business community's keen interest to explore business opportunities in the country. END
