04 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. gave a live interview on July 29 to noted Mexican journalist Federico La Mont in his radio program called Así Lo Dice La Mont (So Says La Mont) which airs regularly on ABC Radio 760 AM from its studio in Mexico City.

The Ambassador’s interview is part of this year´s calendar of activities of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) which groups all the ASEAN member-states with resident missions in Mexico, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. 

The ACMC, currently chaired by the Philippines, arranged with ABC Radio to allot a schedule for each ACMC Ambassador to have a live radio interview as an effective platform to gain deeper insights about each Head of Mission´s country and to discuss key national, regional and global issues.

ABC Radio is an affiliate of the Organización Editorial Mexicana (OEM), the largest Mexican print media company with around 70 Mexican daily newspapers, 24 radio stations and 44 websites

During the fast-paced 30-minute interview, Ambassador Dilem, Jr. fielded questions, in both Spanish and English, on wide-ranging matters, including the principles espoused by the Philippines in its foreign policy, the state of Philippine-Mexican relations, bilateral trade, ASEAN economic integration, the West Philippine Sea/South China Sea issue and the Philippines´ internal security situation, among others.

Ambassador Dilem, Jr. assured Mr. La Mont and his radio listeners of the continued strength and vibrancy of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Mexico. END
