24 June 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw led by Philippine Ambassador to Poland Patricia Ann V. Paez joined the “WIECZOR FILIPINSKI” or “Philippine Night” organized by the government of the town of Legionowo on June 11. The event was in preparation for the town’s hosting of Filipino youths participating in this year’s World Youth Day to be held in Krakow, Poland in July.

A concert featuring violinist Ms. Rachell occur Jutras and pianist Mr. Wojciech Kruczek; performed repertoires of Bruch and Paganini and works of Frederic Chopin, respectively.

Sampling of Philippine lumpiang prito was also featured as a culinary sideshow during the event. The Apl.de.ap’s ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ video was shown during the program. Ms. Joanna Lenartowicz-Tarach, who recently went to the Philippines for her vacation shared a slide presentation of her experiences while in the Philippines. She showed scenic sights in Cebu, Siargao, and Surigao

The Philippine Embassy distributed bags containing CDs of Philippine Kundiman, ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ brochures and Philippine Brand dried mangoes.

Legionowo is a town 23 kilometers north-east of Warsaw.  It is one of the nine districts of the Diocese of Warsaw which has been designated to receive pilgrims from the Philippines participating in the World Youth Day to be held in Poland this coming July.

The World Youth Day 2016 will be held in Krakow, Poland from July 25 to 31. Participants/pilgrims are expected from all over the world. END
