DFA Statement on the Bomb Blasts in Pattani, Thailand

10 May 2017 PASAY — The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok reported that there were no Filipinos among the casualties or injured in the bomb blasts that occurred yesterday in Pattani, South Thailand. Initial reports indicate there were over 50 people injured.  The Embassy is coordinating closely with the Thai authorities to ensure the continued safety of Filipinos in the area.

The Embassy is coordinating with the members of the Filipino community in Pattani and Narathiwat who have already contacted each other to check on each other’s safety and welfare.  The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok will continue to monitor the situation and report further developments.
