Statement on the DPRK’s 21 May and 29 May 2017 Missile Launches

The Philippines expresses grave concern on the DPRK’s missile launches on 21 May 2017 and 29 May 2017 which were carried out in defiance of repeated warnings by the international community. The Philippines notes with alarm the increasing frequency of ballistic missile launches by DPRK. We underscore the need for DPRK to comply with its international obligations under relevant UNSC resolutions, and call for the recommencement of constructive dialogue to defuse tensions in the region.
