14 March 2017 BERNE- Ambassador Joselito Jimeno led the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Berne during the launch of the celebration of National Women’s Month at the chancery on March 06.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “We Make Change Work for Women.”  The theme aims to inform and engage women in the Philippines, as well as to inspire and empower them by creating opportunities for them to become productive members of society.

The Embassy launched “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana” on March 08, International Women’s Day.  “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana” is a special lane for female passport applicants.  Brochures on R.A. 9710 or the Magna Carta for Women were also distributed on that day.

The Embassy celebrated Women’s Week on March 10 together with the female leaders of the Filipino community.  The celebration kicked off with a lecture on the history of International Women’s Day and a discussion on why Women’s Month is both a global and national celebration.  END
