17 March 2017 BERLIN – The Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) encouraged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Berlin to become entrepreneurs at a brunch hosted by Ambassador Melita S. Sta. Maria-Thomeczek at the Philippine Residence on March 12.
Fourteen Filipinos working as private staff in various diplomatic households attended the event. After a spread of Filipino brunch was served, Commercial Counsellor Althea Antonio gave a short talk on entrepreneurship and provided the guests with tips on how to start a business. PTIC represents the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at the Philippine Embassy in Berlin.
The DTI, with its core programs and initiatives, continues to encourage Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad to explore business opportunities in the country. They also assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in different industries. The event was also an Embassy Gender and Development (GAD) project. END
