PHL Embassy in Nairobi Conducts GAD Seminar

Vice Consul Majella Cristy Pua-Diezmos discusses the thrust of International Women’s Month and the programs of the Philippine Embassy to recognize the accomplishments of women.

05 April 2017 NAIROBI — The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi conducted a Gender and Development Seminar with the Filipino Community last March 12 at the Holy Trinity church in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, Kenya.

The Embassy discussed the process by which one can go through in order to seek the help of the Philippine Embassy should they need assistance. To highlight the Magna Carta of Women, the reasoning and principle behind the creation and implementation of the law was extensively discussed.

The Philippine Embassy’s lecture focused not only on the women but the husbands in the audience and called for respect and recognition of each other’s contributions to the family.

Planned projects of the Philippine Embassy for women including training seminars and the search for outstanding Filipino women in East Africa were also relayed. END
