Philippine Embassy in Yangon Briefs CHED Delegation on the Situation in Myanmar

Yangon PHL Embassy briefed CHED on Myanmar situation

Third Secretary and Vice Consul Jan Michael B. Gomez (4th from left) receives the CHED delegation composed of Ms. Mary Leisa Agda (CHED GAD Focal Committee), Dr. Melchor Placino (President, South Luzon State University), Dr. Aurora Javate-De Dios (CHED Technical Panel on Gender and Women Studies), Dr. Hernando D. Rosales (President, Cavite State University) and Dr. Nestor M. De Vera (President, Laguna State Polytechnic University). The CHED delegation was briefed on the current political set-up and the status of gender mainstreaming in Myanmar.  The delegation is set to meet representatives from the Department of Social Welfare, University of Yangon and the UN Women Office in Myanmar to conduct a familiarization tour on gender mainstreaming as part of preparations for the ASEAN Integration Working Group Conference on Gender Mainstreaming in Higher Education, which CHED is hosting in October 2017 as part of ASEAN 50 activities in the Philippines.
